In Music City I visited a couple of music stores and spent a little time in a number of clubs where musicians were playing. I heard some of the finest singing from artists none of us have heard of, singing with character, soul, and precision, all without autotune. This is ironic, since pop country music is among the most offensively auto-tuned genres of music, rivaling T-Pain and the Glee ensemble in their overuse of the studio wizardry. The streets, bars, and music stores were filled with dreamers, Troubadours walking from gig to gig, tip buckets in hand, guitars strapped to their backs. Nashville is a party city and this was very apparent, even on this rainy weekday. This would be a place to spend a few days, with a hotel room somewhere downtown, so that a pub crawl could happen safely while hearing tons of great music from unknowns and yet-to-be-discovereds. Note to self…future trip!

This is not a photography website per se, it is more a scrapbook of my travels. There are plenty of quick phone snapshots and videos with little artistic significance other than to document. I have a photography site here, which is where I put more effort into editing and curating with more artistic sensibilities.
